Not much luck with the projection. I've checked using gnuplot and the relationship between our calculated latitude and gazetteer latitude is definitely not linear. We line up at the equator (of course we do, everything's zero) but then we get higher than the gazetteer up to about 35 degrees, before coming back into alignment around 60 degrees and falling rapidly below. This isn't good. The distances involved aren't huge when you see it on the screen - we're on the right 200x200 pixel tile almost every time - but I do worry that it will make street-level maps unusable.
Going to have to ask the supplier for more detail on their projection.
