The next point to fix (and this might be a biggie) is this: what should happen to node labels in zoom mode?

At the moment, we display them and clip them to the zoom lens boundary. I'm ok with that, as I think it reinforces the sensation that you're looking through a physical lens and magnifying what's beneath. I think others had other preferences, so I'll ask around this afternoon and see if we can decide what needs to be done.
